Inspired by the Instagram Story, Facebook rolled out the Story functionality on their site quite a while back. Every group of friends has at least one person who uploads images, videos, etc. on Facebook very frequently. If you know someone in your friend list, and you want to block him/her from appearing in your notifications, you can do that. The best thing about this guide is that you do not need to block him/her permanently. Instead, you can mute him/her so that you, as a user, do not get any notification regarding his/her story. It is easy, and no external support is required to get the job done.
How to mute & unmute someone in Facebook Story
To mute someone in Facebook Story, follow these steps- To get started, you need to log into your Facebook account first and open a story from the person, whom you want to block or mute. In the story, you can find a three-dotted button visible next to the play/pause and volume buttons. You need to expand the menu by clicking this button and select the option that says Mute [person name].
Instead of [person name], you will get the name of your friend or someone else. Now, you can click the Mute button on the pop-up window to confirm the change. To unmute someone in Facebook Story, follow these steps- Open the Facebook timeline. Here you can find a See all button inside the Stories section. You need to click on this button.
On the next page, click the Settings button. If it opens the Story archive setting, you need to switch to the Stories you’ve muted tab. Click on the Unmute button to get it done.
That’s all! From now onwards, you can keep seeing stories from that person.
